Where to find nidoran in yellow

Tips: This rather common Pokemon is a great early choice for budding Pokemon trainers, as well as a powerful high-level dual type once it evolves into Nidoking. Nidoking is superior. This is because it is more concentrated into side, that is offense.

Beware, its small horns secrete venom. Locations: Catch your very own female Nidoranson Route 22 or in the Safari Zone in all three versions.

It evolves into Nidorino starting at level 16, which evolves into Nidoking when exposed to a Moon Stone. The first order of business is acquiring a Spearow, since it's right here on Route Anyone not using Charmander should probably acquire a Spearow.

Training it to Level will be sufficient. After that, go to Viridian Forest and capture a Pikachu. You'll want to do this no matter what starter you have, because Pikachu can counter your rival's new Pidgey as well as two out of his three starters. Level Pikachu up to Level 9 for Thunder Wave. Your rival always leads with Pidgey, so have Pikachu in the lead and knock it out with Thundershocks preferably two. If your rival chose Bulbasaur, switch to Spearow and use Peck until Bulbasaur faints; if he chose Squirtle, keep Pikachu in and use Thundershock repeatedly, sending in Spearow if Pikachu faints.

Charmander has no true counter yet, so you'll have to rely on a little more strategy, namely Pikachu's Thunder Wave. If Pikachu goes down first, Spearow can finish it with ease. In Yellow version, your rival has Spearow and Eevee. Pikachu will destroy Spearow without any difficulty whatsoever, and Eevee is best handled by catching a Mankey on Route 22 and raising it to Level 9 for Low Kick. Squirtle's Water Gun, however, outdamages Scratch.

Gym 2 - Misty Cerulean City, Water-type : Nidoqueen struggles to damage Staryu just enough to win the matchup, as it only has Scratch available at this point; it can win against it, however, if it either outspeeds or is healed once. Rival S. Kadabra outspeeds and outdamages with Confusion, and Nidoqueen should leave it alone, as it should Wartortle, which has the upper hand with Water Gun unless Nidoqueen already knows Body Slam.

Ivysaur can be beaten even with Scratch, but is likely to eventually cause the switch with Leech Seed. Gym 3 - Lt. Surge Vermilion City, Electric-type : Nidoqueen's Electric immunity gives it a very easy time in this gym, despite its inability to learn Dig.

Kangaskhan's four-hit Comet Punch is about as strong as Nidoqueen's Body Slam, so Nidoqueen is highly likely to win the matchup; Body Slam is an average 4HKO, and if Kangaskhan is paralysed along the way, winning will be easy. Sleep heals should be brought to this gym, as both Victreebel and Vileplume know Sleep Powder.

Nidoqueen can also beat Weezing with relative ease, as its Selfdestruct is only a 2HKO but clearly cannot be used twice. Rival Silph Co. Alakazam's Psychic is too much for Nidoqueen, which should not fight it. Charizard can be 3HKOed by Ice Beam too, which is super effective against it in this generation; the move 3HKOs Venusaur as well, but its Razor Leaf does the same and Venusaur might outspeed, so trying to win this matchup while Nidoqueen's health is low is not recommended.

Giovanni Silph Co. Mime and Venomoth with Ice Beam or Thunderbolt. The fight against Venomoth is likely to make Nidoqueen require healing, as Venomoth's Psybeam deals about as much damage, but Venomoth is also faster.

Rapidash is fast and may spam Fire Spin, preventing Nidoqueen from attacking, but if it eventually fails and Nidoqueen breaks through, the KO will come swiftly. As Ash Ketchum, you'll pursue different monsters. Train them well, and they'll evolve into more powerful monsters. Animated Violence, No Descriptors.
